Our Legacy
American Surplus & Manufacturing (AS&M) has evolved into the iconic Ice Castle Fish Houses since its establishment in Minnesota in 1993. The journey to becoming the premier manufacturer of quality ice houses began from humble origins in the locally known Smith Addition, where AS&M operated out of a small concrete building, selling surplus items, sheds, and doghouses,.
A pivotal moment arose in 1997, when AS&M was commissioned to build 10 sheds on wheels instant success marked the start of the Ice Castle Fish House. Over the past 25 years, Ice Castle has been at the forefront of innovation, introducing features that have revolutionized the wheel house industry. The incorporation of AC units and water/wastewater holding tanks transformed our fish houses into All-Season RVs, culminating in RVIA certification in 2010.
Today, Ice Castle boasts a team that has grown from 8 employees to 150 during peak demand. Our commitment to providing All-Season RVs, equipped with materials designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, reflects our pride in delivering a product that stands the test of time.
